Terms of Service

What OppsCity is — and isn't

OppsCity is a companion app for tracking your progress toward completing a video game and racing other players ("opps") to 100%. It keeps score, shows who's ahead, and turns the rivalry into feeds, call-outs, and shareable receipts. It is not a game, and it does not sell, modify, or provide access to any game.

OppsCity is an independent, fan-made product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Microsoft, Sony, or any game publisher or platform. Game titles, trophy and achievement names, and platform names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify what you're tracking. We do not distribute game assets, artwork, or footage.

Your account

You sign in with your email address and a one-time code — there is no password. Keep access to that email secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. One account per person.

You must be at least 13 to use OppsCity. We ask for your date of birth once, at sign-up, to enforce that and to apply age-based restrictions where the law requires them (for example, purchases may be limited for users under 18). We don't show your date of birth to anyone.

Your display name and handle are public to other users. Pick them accordingly, and don't impersonate anyone.

Linking a gaming profile

You can link an Xbox gamertag or a PlayStation online ID you own. To prove ownership on Xbox, we give you a short code to place temporarily in your public profile bio, then check for it; you can remove the code once you're verified. We never ask for, and never store, your Xbox or PlayStation password.

For linked profiles, we read achievement and trophy information that the platform makes publicly available, through third-party data services. Profiles set to private cannot be synced; the app will tell you what to change. Automatic syncing is available for Xbox profiles on a paid lane; PlayStation profiles are tracked by manual check-off today, with automatic sync rolling out later. You can unlink a profile at any time.

Manual check-offs are self-reported. The app labels them as such, and your opps can see the difference.

Rivalries, feeds, and receipts

Nobody becomes your opp without consent: rivalries form when both players choose each other, or when a player accepts a call-out. Once you're in a rivalry, your progress, passes, and call-outs are visible to that opp and can appear in your feeds. Receipts are generated from that activity; when you share one, you're choosing to make it public.

In-app taunts come from preset packs. There is no free-text messaging between users, and we don't plan to add it. You can block any user at any time, and blocked users can't match with you or see your activity. Report abuse to hello@oppscity.com.

Purchases

The core rivalry loop — tracking, feeds, radar, matching, and joining bounties — is free. OppsCity Pro (the "Hustler" lane) is a one-time purchase of US $4.99 that unlocks automatic syncing, unlimited opps, and receipts without a watermark. Prices are in US dollars and don't include sales tax that applies where you are; prices may change with notice, and a change never affects something you've already bought.

When you buy on oppscity.com or in the browser app, payment is processed by Stripe and the purchase is with us directly. If OppsCity is later offered through Apple's App Store or Google Play, purchases made there are processed by Apple or Google under their terms, and their refund policies apply instead of ours. Please don't buy the same thing both ways.

Refunds for purchases billed by us: contact hello@oppscity.com within 14 days. We handle requests case by case, and we'd rather sort out a problem than keep money from someone the product didn't work for.

Virtual items and currency

If we introduce points, badges, or an in-app currency, they are licensed to you for use inside OppsCity only. They have no cash value, can't be transferred between users, can't be redeemed for money or anything outside the app, and may be adjusted or retired as the product evolves. They are not a wager, a security, or a store of value.

Fair play and acceptable use

OppsCity is built on trust in the score. Don't use modified accounts, exploits, scripts, or automation to fake progress or to drive the Service; don't scrape it or build a competing dataset from it; don't harass, impersonate, or target other users; don't use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights. We may correct scores, restrict features, or suspend accounts that do, with notice where practicable.

Your content and ours

Your display name, handle, and the choices you make in the app are yours. You grant us the license needed to store, display, and process them to provide the Service — nothing more. OppsCity's software, design, brand, and receipt formats belong to Cultural Intelligence Agency LLC.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is." Progress data comes from third-party platforms and from what users report, and we don't warrant that it is complete, current, or accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or available at any particular time — platform data sources can change or become unavailable outside our control. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app; deletion removes your account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
