Opp Match: what Duck and Beef mean

Published September 8, 2026

Opp Match is OppsCity’s rival finder for players at roughly the same achievement-completion pace. Swipe left to Duck and pass silently, or right to Beef and express interest. You become opps only when both players choose Beef. You do not need to be in the same session: the rivalry compares progress as each person plays.

Choose whether to start a rivalry

Duck is a silent pass. Beef is your side of a mutual choice; it does not create a rivalry by itself. Matching at roughly the same pace is a starting point for competition, not a promise that you have identical schedules or will stay level.

Friends can also be added directly. The mutual Beef rule here describes finding strangers through Opp Match.

Follow an example from match to Radar

Illustrative workflow: @example-one and @example-two are placeholder players, not a reported match.

  1. @example-one opens Opp Match, reviews a candidate and swipes right to Beef.
  2. Until @example-two also chooses Beef, that first choice alone is not a mutual rivalry.
  3. Once both choose Beef, they use Radar to follow who is ahead and who is gaining.
  4. Each plays separately, then checks Tracker for their progress and Beef Feed for rivalry activity. Overtaking an opp is a pass; merely choosing Beef is not.

Keep the match separate from the result

Opp Match helps you find the person to compete with. Tracker, Radar and Beef Feed help you follow the competition after that choice. Progress still carries its original source: platform-synced achievements are verified, while manual check-offs are self-reported.
